| So earlier tonight, I was volunteering with David at a camp for children with diabetes - something that we got to do through his work at Sprint. We were working the octopus-like ride...you know, that kind of ride where you could spin
the seats like a teacup while you swung around...that kind of thing. Well, it was getting pretty late in the night - close to 9:00 and there weren't many kids wanting to ride the ride any longer. I decided that I would take a turn riding to balance it out as there were two kids on the direct opposite side of me (the truth, I promise!). As I was sitting there, some other kids came to ride and I asked them if they liked to spin really fast. The first turned me down, but there was a brave little guy
that was around 8 who decided he'd brave riding with me. I warned him we'd go reeeeeally reeeeeeally fast, but he said he could take it.
Right before we started going, I said something to David, who was the ride operator that time around, calling him "Sweetie". The little kid looked at me funny
for calling him that, and I explained to him that David was my husband. That cleared up his confusion, and the ride started going, and I started spinning. And spinning. And spinning. The kid looked at me and said, "My face is starting to spread out!" And, sure enough, it was! Just for fun, I started spinning us faster.
As I continued getting faster and faster, the kid's amusement turned into awe, then horror. Afraid I was about to make him sick, I decided I shouldn't make it go any faster, but as I kept spinning, he looked at me, then at David, then back to me and shouted, "HOW DOES HE LIVE WITH YOU?!?!"
Sometimes, when I spin David around in our office chair, I ask myself the same thing.

| Hey everyone! Sorry it's taken so long to get this up. David and I have been really busy getting everything moved and organized...but - here's wedding pictures! Let me know what you think!

Enjoy! Also, thank you for the prayers - we decided to stay and live in Olathe, KS for at least the next couple of years while David works at Sprint and I get my masters.
We also went on our honeymoon to the Bahamas. Here's some pictures (all are decent, don't worry...lol) They also have some pictures of our apartment in the beginning stages - in the second album:

| Hey everyone! I thought I'd give you all a quick update. Here's what's been going on:
Wedding planning is still full-steam ahead...although I feel like I personally am running out of steam at this point. lol So much to do and so little time. You'd think that a year would be gobs and gobs of time...and maybe it would be if I weren't so perfectionistic...but the sad truth of the matter is that I am. Anyway, we still have a lot to do with regard to the reception - and a lot of that has to be put on hold until we have more RSVP's in. So far, we still need 193 RSVP's in the next 3 days. Somehow, I think that's not going happen. lol
Substitute teaching is going pretty well. Most of my classes have been pretty decent, and typically I can handle the kids that misbehave pretty easily. I've learned that if you show them you 1. won't back down, and 2. are not easily intimidated or shaken, they tend to have respect for you and are manageable.
As for other planning, David and I would like to ask everyone to be praying for us. Over the next couple of weeks, David and I will be praying and looking at the possibility of moving to Michigan right after we get back from our honeymoon. There are a lot of upsides and downsides to both staying in Kansas City and going to Michigan - and they're directly opposites of each other...the upsides of one are the downsides of the other, and vice versa. But, most importantly, we want to make the right decision - we only want to be where God wants us to be. So, if you would, please pray that we make the right decision regarding where to live.
Thank you for your prayers!

| Long time no see, I know...
Thing have been crazy around here!!! The wedding planning has been eating up all of my free time...and my eat time, my sleep time, my me time...if it's time, planning the wedding has been eating it up.
So here's what's been going on:
*More problems with the bridesmaids dresses - I've given up on having them the way I'd like them to be. Apparently taffeta is too "rich" for us common folks...now taffeta is only sold to special groups such as clothing manufacturers and such. Also, I think that the strapless part is going to have to be eliminated, which also really stinks. But, that's life I guess. *We ordered our bedroom set - it is our wedding gift from David's parents...how crazy awesome is that? So, what do you think?????

We don't get the TV, but that's okay. Also, we have a really nice mattress for the bed as well. It's such a blessing to know that all of this stuff is taken care of!!!
As for other news, I don't really have much. I'll try to keep you updated during the time that the wedding hasn't already gorged itself on...It's turning into a monster, I'm tellin' ya! j/k

| Last night, I was checking my e-mail, and I saw one from a name I didn't recognize. The subject line said "Congrats!", and I assumed it was something to do with the wedding.
I was wrong.
The letter continued:
"Dear Christy,
Congratulations! You have been accepted into the M.S. program in Counseling Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Research in Education at the University of Kansas. While you will be receiving official letters in the mail from me as well as the Graduate School, I thought I would send you the good news via e-mail."
I am officially a Jayhawk. I'm sorry all you MU fans. But I will always have a special place for the Tigers in my heart...
